EBIT Margin

The income statement data used for the EBIT margins (i.e. operating profit and revenue) are based on the most recently available figures published by the respective companies in their annual or interim reports.

In order to enable meaningful comparisons, we therefore calculated the median. The bar charts additionally show the interquartile range (IQR) based on the full set of margins of the individual companies in each sector. The IQR represents the middle 50% of the values in each sector, i.e. the range from the first to the third quartile.

The financial services sector (including banks, insurance companies, etc.) was excluded.
