Globally Grant Thornton International is the seventh largest organization of accounting and consulting firms. Grant Thornton International was formed in 1980 by the U.S. and UK audit firms of Alexander Grant and Thornton Baker as a not-for-profit, non-practising, international umbrella membership entity. Mandatory international quality standards

All members of Grant Thornton International are required to comply with the IESBA (International Ethics Standards Board of Accountants) Code of Ethics and International Standards on Auditing (ISA) unless in conflict with national regulations. In addition Grant Thornton International establishes binding quality and ethical standards for its members. Trainings and knowledge exchange within the organization ensure reliable service quality. Grant Thornton International periodically reviews the compliance with quality and ethical standards.
