History

Grant Thornton Unitreu was founded in November 2010. It originated from the merger of the audit and tax advisory firms Grant Thornton and unitreu. The company has more than 150 employees and ranks among the top 10 in the industry in Austria.

Both predecessor companies have been successful in the Austrian market for many years.

The roots of unitreu date back to the 1930s. The company resulted from the merger of several audit and advisory firms. In 2008 Agitas and gmc-unitreu merged to form unitreu.

The origin of Grant Thornton goes back to 1955 when Professor Franz Jonasch founded an audit and advisory firm. In 1990 the company joined the global organization of independently owned and managed accounting and consulting firms Grant Thornton International.
